Diablo 3: Barbarian Changes

The Barbarian class is the class I played back in the Diablo 2 days. Forgive me, but I never played the original Diablo so I cannot comment there. However, I do remember my little pixelated Diablo 2 barbarian that could dual-wield and deal lots of damage back in 2000. So, I have been looking up some information on that class, in case there might be others who would potentially be interested in playing the class.

It would seem to me that Diablo 3′s Barbarian is going to adopt a similar feel to the Warrior class in World of Warcraft. Back in the Diablo 2 days, the Barbarian was a mana generated special power limited class where you could use “Shout” or perhaps a few other features to make the class more of a viable option in co-op play. However, the Barbarian in Diablo 3 is now becoming a rage class.

This means that instead of going into battle with full mana and using potions to quickly bring your mana back up to a full state, you will now be applying certain moves to gain rage. Supposedly there are attacks such as “Bash” and “Cleave” (reminding me of the Warrior and Rogue classes from World of Warcraft) to build up rage. Once you build up enough rage through the use of those basic attacks, you can then use that rage to do additional damage through more powerful attacks.
