Discussion: M320 Removal
In short, we would like to hear your opinions on removing the M320 from all competition. There has been some concerns that it has become a staple for competitive play and it is lowering the required level of skill in order to be a successful team. What we are attempting to do is provide a good platform in order for teams to not only be able to come up with creative and unique strategies in order to enhance the level of play and options for all teams, but also make the game as fun as possible to play in the competitive gaming.
Please, as before with when we discussed removing the MAV, please post your opinion as a comment to this news post (click on the title), why you feel it is important to keep or remove the M320, and we will be reviewing all opinions and taking them into consideration.




No keep it, people bitch about it because its easy to kill with it but its a strategic part of the game that needs to be kept in.
The M320 is a huge aspect of the game. Like every weapon or piece of equipment it has pros and cons. Sure people will complain about 320 spam, but you can avoid 320 spam or take another route.
Infantry who are in dug in positions are almost impossible to kill with just a gun. The 320 gives gives infantry a chance against those dug in infantry. Also taking away the aspect of using rubble against the enemy which i know my team uses a lot.
People may or may not start using the engineer class with RPG spam. RPGs reload slower, but have a larger splash dmg then M320.
All said and done. I think banning the 320 is a bad idea and is taking a lot away from the game and infantry combat
Don’t listen to that noob. Take it away. I don’t care if people say they don’t spam it and just use it to open shit up. It’s way too easy to just spam it nonstop and it’ll be very effective and plenty of people abuse it this way. 4v4 should focus more on gun skill.

If you start gutting the game via removing guns and or accessories you will are adding to the demize of the game as a whole. Mav everyone understood but if you remove the nade launcher your just killing what little this game has left to give.

Wow come on. This isn’t Counter-Strike as much as people want to see those days again. Destroying the environment for strategy etc is part of the game and what seperates it from other shooters. Yes it can be frustrating, but it’s a dynamic in the game that cannot be changed.
It would cripple the game.
I think removing it, would be a great way to swing things around, although i think it does help at some points in the game, Hence structure. It also i think is used as a crutch as our team, i think we used it too much. And we are strafing away from it. I think people should focus more on Gun to Gun combat rather then 320 TO 320 combat.
I still think though smokes should stay because it helps very much in your strategies.
I can see both sides to the argument and honestly would be happy to play either way.
Maybe there is a compromise by somehow limiting the Squad Frag perk so that it doesn’t give the extra 320 rounds, only hand grenades. I assume it may be possible with a procon plugin, just a thought :D
Ban it. Any good team we play, it ends up being a M320 spam till you get a pick with it and push on from there. It’s retarded…plus seems like I’m the only one on the team capable or half-decent with the M320 and I want my medic bag.
Keep it, talking about this in TWL too and its just a shame, soon it will be “BAN RPGS, CLAYMORES, C4, ANYTHING THAT GOES BOOM!”

Make teams be limited to one m320. How about this idea guys?
This is a tough one. On one hand, 320 use is a bit excessive right now but does enable terrain modification which is a unique and interesting part of BF3 competition. Ultimately teams would have to rely on engineers to do that which promotes different class play….which I’m a proponent of. Along those lines, I wish we could make the 320 part of the Support class because that would be the ultimate compromise in my opinion.
In the end, I would be in favor a measure that banned or limited the 320 but I think the latter option is too hard to enforce.

1 per team sounds good to me as well.
The problem with the m320 is that is was given to the assault class, which is plenty powerful enough without it. The game has 4 classes, 3 which are typically unused for 4v4 squad rush. Instead of outright banning of the m320 1 per team would be reasonable but the effort to track the users would be to difficult to confirm compliance. Banning the m320 will lead to other classes being used which would make the game more dynamic.
Keep the M320!
It should be removed, to all the people who say it helps kill dug in infantry and helps to destroy structures, you should have to go engineer in order to do those things. Case closed
4x assault + nade perk = 28 M320′s
It’s impossible to police it so the options are to either ban it or leave it.
320 + paddles + best selection of guns = OP

M320 serves much more purpose then what all you idiots are bitching about. Its not just for the “easy no skill kills”.
Restricting it to 1 per team is also stupid. How do you police it? You get killed by one guy with it, then you get killed by a different guy with it. You dispute, they say they switched M320s, the first guy didn’t have it. Only possible way to dispute more then 1 M320 would be to have 2 team mates die at the exact same time with M320 and screenshot/video it.
There are ways, such as video evidence, or chat logs from ProCon showing 2 kills from separate people using 320s without either of them dying and switching guns.
Ya but like thats so much work, just to prove they are using 2 M320s I’d say either BAN it completely or don’t.

Why not limit teams to one medic and one engineer? This would make the use of rpg’s and 320′s more tolerable and force the use of recon and support. The medic might opt to use a medpack instead of the 320 leaving explosive duties primarily to the engineer. I think more strategy would come into play seeing as how everyone wouldn’t have the same role and same kit(m16,320, defib). As it is now, every game I’ve played is a 4 medic, 320 spam fest. Seems like pretty stale and undynamic gameplay.
